On Thursday Nov. 12th, 300 AHS staff and students, in collaboration with Boston Scientific, formed the World Diabetes Day logo on the soccer field. KARE 11 filmed the event from their helicopter and aired the footage on their Thursday evening newscast. Boston Scientific posted pictures of the event on the World Diabetes Day website.

Each year as part of our BioSMART program, Arlington develops and implements an integrated unit. The integrated unit brings the entire school together to focus on a single topic. The focus of this year’s integrated unit is diabetes.

BioSMART

Arlington is a comprehensive high school with a science, math and technology magnet focus we call “BioSMART”. Students are introduced to the bio industries, one of the largest growth areas in Minnesota, and core coursework emphasizing either medical & health sciences, business & marketing or engineering technology.

BioSMART offers students a rigorous, integrated curriculum, industry visits, networking with industry experts, and opportunities for internships and college-level certifications. All this is offered through hands-on learning experiences with the latest technology from a caring staff in small learning communities.
