According to the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota, "the BioScience industry will effect every
facet of our lives and every industry in the 21st Century." Therefore,
at Arlington, students are introduced to the bio-industries, one of
the largest growth areas in Minnesota, and core coursework emphasizing
either medical & health sciences, business & marketing or
engineering & technology. Research indicates that job growth in
Minnesota will be greater than average in these areas of study.

More potential Students excited about their college and career potential can take courses to jump start their futures, including:
• Biotechnology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology • Introduction to business, accounting, and marketing • Web design, introduction to engineering, and digital imaging • Arabic, French, and Spanish
In addition, some of Minnesota’s leading companies are partnering with BioSMART to offer students opportunities for networking, internships and college-level certification.
About Arlington Opened in 1996, Arlington was built to support smaller communities of learners within a large high school. Arlington’s innovative architectural design has won several national awards.
Students in grades 9 and 10 choose a "House" connected to one of the three pathways and spend half of their school day in core classes (social studies, English and science) with the same team of teachers for two years. Students in grades 11 and 12 take core classes and electives related to their BioSMART pathway.
Arlington students enjoy a long history of achievements in athletics, Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, community service and school clubs.
