Chemistry can be considered the central science because it creates a bridge between the physical and biological areas of science. It also helps develop skills to help us better understand and explain the world around us. These skills include observing, investigating, interpreting, hypothesizing, questioning and concluding. Library materials (books, magazines, newspapers, CD-ROM, Internet) and multimedia tools will enhance many of the concepts covered this year.
This course incorporates lab work for discovery, cooperative learning and group activities, and varieties of assessment. Safety is always a concern, thus any student endangering themselves or others will not be allowed to participate.
